CAVA DE' TIRRENI

is a city rich in history, characterised by an urban centre that preserves numerous examples of medieval, baroque and 18th century architecture. Notable buildings include the Palazzo di Città and the Giuseppe Verdi Theatre. The city is also home to important places of worship, such as the Cathedral, the Church of San Francesco and the Basilica of Santa Maria dell'Olmo. The Castle of Sant'Adiutore, which dates back to the 10th century, offers an extraordinary panoramic view. Cava de' Tirreni is also known for the Diecimare Natural Park, an ideal destination for hiking enthusiasts, and for its deep-rooted religious traditions, which are most evident in the celebrations in honour of local saints. 

From a gastronomic point of view, Cava has an important tradition; among the most famous dishes are: pasta and potatoes in pie tins, stuffed spleen, sweet omelette and the famous confettone.
