EVENTS
- Feast of San Costabile Gentilcore: celebrated on 17 February, this religious feast is distinguished by the traditional procession of the saint through the streets of the medieval village to the Belvedere di San Costabile. Here, the saint's bust is exposed to the panorama of the town he founded and protects. The festivities end with a spectacular fireworks show in honour of the Cilento saint from Tresino.
- Feast of St Mark the Evangelist : Every 25 April, the patron saint of the hamlet of San Marco di Castellabate is celebrated. The religious feast includes an evocative sea procession, in which the saint is transported by boat by local fishermen along the coast, from Pozzillo to Punta Licosa. During this celebration, the village comes alive with rides, stalls and other attractions, culminating at midnight with an exciting fireworks display from the marina.
- The Palio della Stuzza: This is one of the oldest and most traditional events in Castellabate. The Stuzza is a game of skill that has been held for over a century in the waters of Marina Piccola in Santa Maria di Castellabate, on 14 August, in conjunction with the festival in honour of Santa Maria a Mare, patron saint of the hamlet. The palio consists of recovering the last of the three flags fixed on a horizontal chestnut pole about 18 metres long, made extremely slippery, without falling into the sea. The winner is the one who manages to catch it without losing his balance.
